I am older than I look and younger than I feel. My life is a whirlwind and as magical and adventurous as they come. I love and hate everything in equal amounts. My name is Jake. I am a southern Californian photographer with 12 years capturing thousands of moments, for myself, for my clients and for the world with only my fingers. My work reflects my life and brings to life what is lurking in my brain.
In 2008 I was diagnosed with General Anxiety disorder, Anxiety induced Depression and Obsessive compulsive disorder. It’s not a fun way to live. Every moment of every day I am fighting. My work has helped me cope, express, share and learn about my disorder. My brain is a hard person to live with, but through my pictures I can express what it’s like in there, and for a moment people can understand what it’s like for me. I love everything about photography. Every facet excites me. Every tool is like a new toy. And every day I learn more. This blog invites you to jump inside my weird and damaged head and join me, if only for a moment.
What you can expect to find on my blog:
- Editing tips and tricks
- Photo shoot ideas and inspiration
- Lots and lots of behind the scenes pictures and videos from photo shoots
- Photography help and how-to’s
- Camera and equipment help and product reviews
- Photography 101
- Laughter and humiliation as you watch me learn new things and fail at others
Welcome to my weird brain!
